It was something that was taken for granted: cell phone radiation is low intensity radiation that does not have the ability to alter DNA , and therefore cannot cause cancer or other diseases. Now, after thoroughly examining the radiation values ​​of the 5G connection, the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP), the German scientific body that regulates the subject, has concluded that the 5G connection is safe , including millimeter waves. 5G high frequency .
Most of the frequencies used by the 5G connection cover the same frequency range as 4G, so their radiation is similar. However, this new standard also uses new high-frequency waves above 6 GHz, which until now the ICNIRP had not regulated, because that frequency was not used. And although the maximum allowed radiation values ​​have dropped compared to 4G, they are still well above normal mobile use .
According to Dr. Jack Rowley, Senior Director of Research at the GSMA, 90% of the time we use a 5G mobile, we only receive 1% of the maximum radiation allowed by the ICNIRP .

Although the 5G connection was launched in some countries in 2019, including Spain, its takeoff has really started this year and is expected to increase next year. Now it is already a connection three times faster than 4G , but it will multiply its speed in the coming years.
