A good deal is hard to pass by. Having perks and discounts for just being yourself is wild. Makes you feel like you won at life just by receiving special treatment.
The acquired knowledge and experience has made us wise. We can read people quicker than most and have seen trends come and go and come back again. But something that has never changed are the benefits of making it to this stage in life.
Jumping to the front of the line because of our age and having preferential sitting is just one example of perks. The discounts that vary from 15% t0 30% just because of the birthday date on my ID has to be my favorite.
No one rushes us to do things quicker or expect a speedy response from us. As our community accepts and understands us for what we have offered and done, my gratitude increases.
The Upside of Being This Cool
I saved hundreds of dollars just by choosing to spend my money in places that give me benefits for my age. From the car wash to the movies to huge savings in my auto insurance are just a few examples. I’m big on bargaining, but recently I have found that there’s no need for me to do so.
I can still take advantage of high-quality products and services, but for a discounted rate. This puts a smile on my face anytime I think about it. My wife and I giggle to ourselves when we get a check, and it has a senior discount on it. It’s not much, but it sure makes our day anytime it happens.
As you can tell, I purposely shop at these locations just because of their discounts. If I go somewhere new, one of the first things I ask is if there is a senior discount in place. I’ve been spoiled, I know. It would be hard not to, especially when you have gotten used to it as much as we have.
Over the years, I have kept a list of places that take care of us. I’ve also gotten in the habit of searching for providers who offer senior perks. Every time me or my wife finds a new one, we can’t wait to tell each other and our friends. It’s like finding a treasure a couple of times a month and bragging about it to those who haven’t heard of it.
