– Sometimes there are offers if you sign up or fill out your information, in exchange, you might receive a $50 or $100 or more Visa gift card.  What the companies are doing is exchanging your time and your information and paying you for it.  They could have spent that $100 on TV advertising trying to get your information or to get to sign up for their service or product or trial offer.  But instead they are just giving you the cash in the form of a Visa Gift card, an easier exchange where both parties benefit.

Most likely in most situations if you are trying to build up credit and end up with a great credit card with a high limit within the next year or so, you probably want an “unsecured” credit card because those are the ones that will allow you to build credit.

An “unsecured” credit card allows you to make your purchases with the money that a bank is lending you. You have the option of repaying that loan the following month or in several installments.

-Where to look for an “Unsecured” Credit card.  There are independent review sites such as Bankrate and others.  All you have to do is search google for some reviews of different cards and then look for one that you can get approved for.

***Pro Tip- Apply for a card that has NO FEE in the first year.  This way to can upgrade by applying to a  different card after your credit score increases after 6 months from making purchases and payments.  Then cancel the card before you get hit with the fee.  By then you’ve already applied for another better credit card with no fee in the first year too.    You can even get a card that has great points like enough for a free first class airplane ticket if you play the game right.  Usually you can get bonuses of 80,000 points or more just for signing up and spending like $5k in three months.  Plan it right and you got no fees and you are flying first class baby.
